Versopolis - Panselinos in Cyprus

Under the stars and a full moon (= Panselinos), three exceptional, young emerging poets, Eduard Escoffet from Catalonia, Spain and Avgi Lilli and Constantinos Papageorgiou from Cyprus will meet, share their poetry and … vision! in conversation with awarded author Myrto Azina – Chronidou.

In cooperation with the Department of Arts – Graphic Design (BA) of the European University Cyprus 
Students of the course Sound and Motion will create videopoems with the use of Motion graphics that will be showcased during the event (including the three participating poets).

Ideogramma has been a member of the Versopolis Platform as of 2019, and hosts in Cyprus emerging poets, who are represented on the platform.

Versopolis – Panselinos in Cyprus will be bilingual (Greek and English) but the poets will read in the original language, while translations in English and Greek will be projected on a screen.

The event is open and free to the public.

Eduard Escoffet: Poet and entrepreneur, former director of the Barcelona Poetry Festival. (Poblet, 1979). Poet and cultural agitator. Is a co-founder of the group projectes poètics sense tí (untitled poetic projects - and he was director of PROPOSTA, the festival of present-day poetic practice at the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (2002 - 2004). He has worked in different facets of poetry (visual and written poetry, installations, oral poetry, poetic action, et cetera) however, lately he has focused his interests on sonorous poetry and live recital. His poetry is a defense of orality and direct contact with the public. Apart from being involved in Barcelona's counter-culture theatre, he has also presented his work in festivals around Europe, China, the United States and Argentina.

Avgi Lilli: She has published two poetry collections on Greek; The Slaughter of the Century (Athens, Thraca, 2018; 2nd edition 2020) and Rough notes on a life vest (Nicosia, Armida, 2011). Some of her poems have been translated in English, Turkish and Spanish. She has been one of the participants of the 2019 European Poetry Festival in London. She has also participated in other international literary festival (4th Sardam: interdisciplinary literature festival, Limassol, 2016; CROWD OMNIBUS literary tour 2016). As a poet she focuses on the deconstruction (“distillation”) of language and meaning. Her poetry has been characterised as a refreshing feminist poetics of fragmentation. She is also interested in the multidisciplinary aspects of poetry and its interaction with visual and performance art. Her work «The poet’s alphabet book» (2018, 10X12 cm, letraset on canvas) is included in the collection Imago Mundi-Cyprus Collection Fondazione Benetton, Treviso, Italia (

Constantinos Papageorgiou: He has published two poetry collections: The Five Seasons (2012, nominated for Best Newcomer Poet by the Hellenic Authors Society) and Supernova (2017, nominated for Cyprus National Poetry Prize).  In 2019, he was awarded "Best Young Poet" by the Cyprus Writers Union for his unpublished book "The Postcards I haven't sent"
