Felix Poetry Festival
Sepetmber 25, 2021
On September 25th Poëziecentrum and Passa Porta join forces in the context of the poetry market Poetik Bazar. Nine exceptional poets are invited at Passa Porta, resulting in an exciting international poetry program. Maja Lee Langvad (Denmark), Volha Hapeyeva (Belarus), Tibor Babiczky (Hungary) and Gaia Ginevra Giorgi (Italy) each bring their verses from different corners of Europe and will offer an exclusive insight in their oeuvre. Due to corona restrictions, it is not possible for them attend the evening itself, but each poet has recorded an advanced video portrait in which they perform their own poems. Moreover, a selection of their work has been compiled in a trilingual booklet that we present to you on this evening.
Even more, Samantha Barendson (France), Asha Karami (The Netherlands), Miriam Van hee (Belgium), Yves Namur (Belgium) Carmien Michels (Belgium) and Lisette Ma Neza (The Netherlands) will be present at Passa Porta on Saturday and hence perform their poems live during this poetry party. The poems are read in the original language and are translated into Dutch, French and English. Actor, rapper and writer Rashif El Kaoui is our host for the evening.
On top of all this, several interesting poetry talks will be posted online in the week before Poetik Bazar Poetry Party, in which the four European poets go in conversation with Melissa Giardina, interviewer, editor and bookseller.
These programs take place in the context of the Versopolis project, a European platform for poetry organizations, with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
Poetik Bazar Poetry Party starts at 7 PM at Passa Porta, Rue A. Dansaerstraat 46, 1000. Entrance is € 6 / € 8. More information is available at the website of Poëziecentrum, Poetik Bazar, or at Passa Porta. Tickets can be bought at https://www.passaporta.be.
