Yolanda Aurora Bohm Ramirez

- Sweden -

Yolanda Aurora Bohm Ramirez, born 1987 in Växjö and raised in Stockholm, is a trilingual poet, translator and artist with her family roots deeply interred in Chilean soil. In 2018 her first poetry collection, IKON (ICON), was released by the publishing house Brombergs Bokförlag to roaring reviews and a shortage at both stores and the publisher. She has been a sure success in the Spoken Word circuit of Sweden in competitions and with her spoken word theater: the Swedish show IDOL (IDOL) in 2019, and her English show  "...and trans people are from Mercury" in 2020. Her first translated work, Poet X (The Poet X) by Elizabeth Acevedo, was released in Swedish by the publisher Vox by Opal in 2020. Now her creative energies are focused on writing more in, and translating into, English and her mother tongue Spanish, as well as preparing to release her next collection of poetry and her first novel. On the down low she is also a stand up artist, a fire juggler, an educator, an aspiring songwriter and a D&D-nerd. Just give her a microphone or a stage and she's in her element!
