Marek Kazmierski

Currently lives in Poland, although  grew up and has lived in the UK for the past 30 years. His professional experience involves management of numerous private, public and non-profit workplaces, most recently as Head of Diversity for the Ministry of Justice in London and Managing Editor of Not Shut Up, a quarterly magazine representing unfree art in the UK and abroad. 
As a writer, translator and editor, his work has been published in the likes of 3AM Magazine, the Guardian, Poetry Wales and The White Review, while his  short-form autobiography won the 2007 Penguin Decibel Prize. He has translated numerous books of Polish poetry, prose and non-fiction, and has delivered lectures on the subject at various universities, including University of Cambridge and University College London. He has been shortlisted for awards such as the Griffin Poetry Prize in Canada and European Literature Night in the UK. He has delivered a range of innovative cultural projects for the likes of the British Council, English PEN, the Paul Hamlyn Trust, the Polish Cultural Institute and Southbank Centre, founded the independent publishing house OFF_PRESS and recently became a Trustee of the Griffin Poetry Prize, based in Toronto, Canada.
